The fight to save net neutrality is far from over. The Senate only needs one more vote to invalidate the repeal of net neutrality via the Congressional Review Act (CRA). On February 27th, an Internet-wide day of action called Operation: #OneMoreVote, backed by notable companies like Tumblr, Reddit, and Medium, will be set into motion and internet users across the country will be encouraged to flood the Senate with calls and emails to secure that additional vote.
Whether it fails or not, you don’t want to risk anything with your online privacy — and it's up to you to protect yourself from getting throttled by your Internet Service Provider. One way to do that is by using a Virtual Private Network, or VPN. VPNs have been growing in prominence as ISPs have gained greater autonomy and control over their customers' personal information, and they're perhaps more important now than ever. Generally speaking, VPNs add a layer of security to your connection so ISPs, hackers, and government snoops cannot pry into your online activities. Each has its own unique perks, though, so here are a few VPN deals that are available now:
• Ivacy VPN: Lifetime Subscription, $30 (97% off)
• HideMyAss! VPN: 2-Yr Subscription, $55 (80% off)
• TigerVPN: Lifetime Subscription, $35 (95% off).
