Waffle House Shooter Travis Reinking Indicted on 17 Counts

Including first-degree murder.

Travis Reinking, the suspect in last year’s Waffle House shooting in Antioch, Tennessee, was reportedly indicted on 17 counts Monday—including “four counts of premeditated first-degree murder.” According to The Tennessean, a Davidson County grand jury also accused Reinking of “four counts of attempted first degree murder... possession of a firearm with the intent to commit a dangerous felony and possession of a handgun.” Reinking is currently in prison awaiting trial after he allegedly shot up the Waffle House and ran from the scene naked on April 22. Four people were killed in the shooting. Police reportedly apprehended him after a 34-hour manhunt, and his case was put on hold for months so he could receive mental-health treatment. Reinking, who was deemed to have “untreated schizophrenia,” was reportedly declared competent to face charges in October.
