Let the holiday sales race begin: Starting Thursday, Walmart is offering free shipping on 60,000 items with no minimum purchase. The company will run the offer through December 20. That’s obviously good news for cash-strapped consumers, but, according to The New York Times, “it may create an expectation among consumers—free shipping, no minimum, always—that would make it harder for smaller e-commerce sites to survive.”
