Walter Scott Family Will File Civil Suit

The family of Walter Scott is preparing to file a civil suit against the city of North Charleston, South Carolina, the North Charleston Police Department, and ex-police Officer Michael Slager, who was caught on video shooting Scott to death. “We will seek every penny of compensation that the family deserves,” state Rep. Justin Bamberg, who will represent the family as a lawyer, told the New York Daily News. “People in society are fed up with people getting away with things like this, fed up with law enforcement abusing the power that they have.”
