Two Shootings in D.C. Leave One Dead and Eight Wounded

One person was killed and eight others were wounded in two shootings Thursday night in Washington, D.C., police said. The first shooting took place in a residential part of northwest Washington near the Columbia Heights Metro Station. One man was killed and five other adults wounded with injuries ranging from non-life-threatening to critical. Three others were hurt in another shooting in northeast Washington later Thursday night. Police don’t know if the shootings are related, The Washington Post reports. D.C. police are searching for two “males armed with AK-style rifle” in connection with the first shooting.
