A 23-year-old man has been arrested in the attack on a woman who was stabbed to death while she was jogging in Washington, D.C. Wendy Karina Martinez, 35, suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck when she was attacked in the trendy neighborhood of Logan Circle on Tuesday night. Members of the public tried to provide help after she stumbled bleeding into a Chinese takeout restaurant, but she later died after being transported to a hospital. Suspect Anthony Crawford was taken into custody Wednesday evening, and has since been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, according to CBS News. “It is more likely a random act than anything else, but we’re going to look at all possibilities,” D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said Wednesday, adding that that the area is usually a “very safe neighborhood.” The Metropolitan Police Department released footage of a suspect that showed a man wearing a long-sleeve mustard-colored shirt, flip flops, and white socks.
