When a woman identified only as Annie protested against Islam outside of the Noor Islamic Cultural Center near Dublin, Ohio, she was shocked to find that those she believed to be fueled by hate and radicalism were actually the opposite.
After Annie’s misinformed rambling of damning “facts” about Islam she had read on the Internet, members of the Mosque engaged her withfriendly banter and calmly challenged her point of view. At first Annie resisted. However, after nearly thirty minutes of conversation she started to come around.
The breaking point comes after 44 minutes when a woman wearing hijab hugs Annie. The kindness of the community moved her to accept an invitation inside the mosque to meet with more members. After joking that she’ll burst into flames if she sets foot inside, she walked in with her new friends, where she was greeted not with fire and brimstone, but applause.
