A court hearing in New Mexico descended into a melee when a 21-year-old murder suspect was attacked by the victim’s family. Alexander Ortiz, who is accused of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend Alianna Farfan in January 2024, was in court on Friday for a pre-trial hearing when Farfan’s uncle, Carlos Lucero, and stepfather, Pete Ysasi, lunged at him, NBC reported. Footage showed the two men jumping over the courtroom boundary and heading directly to Ortiz, who attempts to get away. Soon after, Ortiz’s dad, Joeray Ortiz, also jumped into the fray. The fight lingered for about a minute before sheriff’s deputies could break it up. Lucero and Ysasi were charged with battery upon a peace officer and assault on a jail.
