Now that Ryan Murphy has successfully dominated the horror genre on television, he’s moving on to crime. And for the first 10-episode season of his new miniseries American Crime Story, the TV mogul is tackling the biggest true crime story of the modern era: The People vs. O.J. Simpson.
The first trailer for the series, set to make its debut on Feb. 2, includes glimpses of all the major players. “Nobody gets killed in Brentwood,” a naïve Marcia Clark (played by AHS’s Sarah Paulson) remarks as the early details of the double-murder unfold.
Then we see David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran and—of course—Cuba Gooding Jr., as the Juice himself.
“You want to make this a black thing?” Simpson asks in the trailer. “Well, I’m not black, I’m O.J.!”
