“Hello, I’m Anna Wintour, I’m editor of Vogue, and I do clubs and colleges.”
This was how fashion's high priestess chose to be introduced at the Comedy Cellar, where she performed a short standup set.
Meanwhile, Amy Schumer pretended to know the difference between two blouses and suffered through a tiny lunch at Vogue.
It’s all part of a short skit to go with Vogue’s July issue, which features Schumer on its cover, and the latest example of Wintour defying her icy reputation as an uncompromising editrix.
The sketch begins with Wintour and Schumer trading a simple taunt: “I could do what you do.” Each woman then attempts to make good on that claim, but it’s Wintour who finishes with more confidence.
“And remember,” she tells her audience at the Comedy Cellar, “Wintour is coming.” Then she drops the mic.
