New York sports-radio host Craig Carton announced Wednesday that he would resign from his position at WFAN, following allegations that he was involved in a ticket-selling Ponzi scheme worth millions of dollars. “Unfortunately, the unfounded legal issues currently plaguing me will only be a distraction to everyone at WFAN and the show I helped build,” Carton said in a statement. “With that in mind, I have submitted my resignation to the station and they accepted.” Carton, who hosted the popular Boomer & Carton, was arrested last week on wire-fraud charges.
