President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell issued statements on Wednesday afternoon affirming their “shared priorities,” a day after The New York Timesreported that the two men’s relationship had soured significantly in recent weeks. “President Donald J. Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell remain united on many shared priorities,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement. McConnell’s office put out a statement earlier Wednesday attributed to the majority leader: “We have a lot of work ahead of us, and we are committed to advancing our shared agenda together and anyone who suggests otherwise is clearly not part of the conversation.”
