What will Sarah Palin think of this? The White House announced a list of nine people that had been pardoned by President Obama today. The list doesn’t appear to contain any familiar names, and the alleged crimes are varied. The pardons include four convictions for cocaine possession; one charge of mutilation of U.S. coins; one for perjury to the FDA; another for a violation of liquor laws; illegal possession of government property; and counterfeiting securities. The pardons are Obama’s first as president—aside from the Thanksgiving turkeys. All are minor cases from as far back as 1963; six of nine never resulted in any prison time.
