The White House has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reinstate President Donald Trump’s executive order banning entry to the United States by citizens from six Muslim-majority nations. The motion is an appeal of the injunction against the order most recently upheld by the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals one week ago. That ruling declared that Trump’s executive order “drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination.” In a statement at the time, Attorney General Jeff Sessions vowed that the Justice Department would seek review of the executive order by the Supreme Court.
