First Joe Biden cancels the pool party for journalists, and now the White House will not hold the annual congressional picnic in June, administration sources said on Monday. The annual event is held for both Senate and House members and their families, but there are “scheduled-related, not sequester-related” problems with the picnic. The White House has not made an official statement yet, but members of Congress reportedly received a notice from the White House saying the picnic “hopefully” would be rescheduled for September. If kids are expected to bring their homework, we will all know that it’s really a war on fun.
