White House principal deputy press secretary Raj Shah said on Sunday that President Donald Trump still “intends to” meet with special counsel Robert Mueller. Trump’s “attorneys are communicating with the special counsel on the specifics,” Shah said on ABC’s This Week, adding that the sit-down would take place under oath. “There’s no intention whatsoever to fire Robert Mueller, the special counsel, right now,” Shah said. Earlier this year, The New York Times reported that Trump tried to fire Mueller last year, and the president has characterized the probe as a “witch hunt” and a waste of taxpayer money.
