Whitey Bulger Held Without Bail

James “Whitey” Bulger returned to Boston Friday after 16 years on the run, where a judge ordered him held without bail. Bulger drew laughter from the court when he answered he could afford a lawyer “if you gave me my money back.” Family members of his victims showed up to watch, as did Bulger’s brother, William Bulger, the former Massachusetts Senate President—the brothers exchanged a smile upon seeing each other in the courtroom.  Meanwhile, America’s Most Wanted host John Walsh said he received some 200 tips about Bulger over 16 years, including one who spotted Bulger on a beach in Santa Monica playing chess.
