On the remix of Kanye West’s “Diamonds From Sierra Leone,” Jay Z raps, “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man,” but it seems like a recent string of legal troubles may threaten that declaration. To date the rap mogul is fighting two lawsuits filed against him personally; two lawsuits against his streaming service, Tidal; a lawsuit against his record label; and another lawsuit against his management company, Roc Nation.
Perfumania is the latest company taking Hova to court. The company is seeking $18 million in damages after the hip-hop mogul allegedly failed to appear at several promotional events for the cologne the retail chain released as partners. Perfumania is claiming these failed appearances are directly related to the exponential drop in sales the fragrance saw between 2014 and 2015. Watch the video below for the full story.
