A “very early taste of winter” storm headed in Virginia Sunday morning, after the icy mix left hundreds of thousands were stranded without power in Texas and Arkansas. Utility provider Oncor said 75,000 still had no power in Texas on Sunday, down from 267,000 during the height of the storm. The storm coated the mid-Atlantic region with ice and freezing rain, causing “slick weather conditions,” said Chris Dolce of The Weather Channel. “If you are in an affected area, stay indoors. Don’t risk traveling if you don’t have to,” Dolce warned. The storm is expected to head toward New York and New England, and New York issued a “snow alert” for Monday.
