The television writer David Mills has died of a brain aneurysm just days before the new show he co-wrote and co-produced, HBO’s Treme, is set to premiere. Throughout his career, Mills worked closely with David Simon, writing for Simon’s shows Homicide and The Wire, as well as other programs like ER. Treme, which is about post-Katrina New Orleans, will debut April 11. Mills was 49 years old.
