Unbelievably, this was not a prank phone call.
A woman in Connecticut called 911 to complain that a pizzeria would not return her money after they delivered her the wrong toppings.
“I ordered a small pizza—half cheese and half bacon,” the customer told a very tolerant police dispatcher, “and they bring me half hamburger, so I call them back and they don’t want to give my money back.”
“That’s not a police matter, ma’am,” the dispatcher calmly responded.
Somehow the conversation continued, with the woman asking if cops could talk to the pizzeria.
“You cannot even call them or something?” she asked.
“No, we can’t call the pizza shop,” the dispatcher replied with zen-like patience.
The pizzeria later explained that they would happily have replaced the woman’s order if she had not already eaten half of it.
