A 73-year-old grandmother who made headlines this week after rescue workers accidentally dropped her into the frigid Arctic Sea while trying to remove her from a cruise ship has died. Janet Richardson spent almost eight minutes in the cold water on Thursday, and was then air-lifted to a U.K. hospital. She passed away Thursday evening, hospital officials announced Saturday. “Unfortunately Janet died, peacefully… with her family and friends around her,” her husband said.
