Aspiring model LaShawna Threatt was celebrating her 30th birthday at the W Atlanta hotel in Georgia when she fell 10 stories to her death early Saturday morning. Police say Threatt was "play fighting" with friend Ciara Williams when both broke crashed through their hotel room window. Both women hit a slanted ledge along their fall, the impact of which killed Threatt, but Williams somehow survived, rolling off the structure and falling 20 more feet. She is in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. Though Atlanta police are investigating the fall as an accident, the homicide unit has nonetheless been notified and will assist in the investigation of Threatt's death.
