Egyptian protesters—and the world—have been outraged by the beating of a veiled woman in Cairo earlier in the weekend. Footage that's been widely broadcast on the Internet show helmeted officers charging toward a woman in Tahrir Square, dragging her on the ground, beating her with clubs and kicking her limp, defenseless body. One soldier even pulled her veil over her head to expose her bra and stomps on her breasts, though CNN said it could not verify the authenticity of the video. The incident has invigorated the already outraged demonstrators, who view the Egyptian army as increasingly repressive since it helped the overthrow of former dictator Hosni Mubarak in February. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton urged the security forces to respect the rights of Egyptians and end the violence.
