Woolwich Suspect Charged

Michael Adebowale, 22, allegedly hacked soldier.

The man who has been accused of using a cleaver to behead a British soldier in broad daylight on May 22 in London has been charged with murder. A 22-year-old from southeast London, Michael Adebowale was indicted shortly after being released from the hospital—where he was being treated for a gunshot wound inflicted when police arrived on the scene. The investigation into who else participated in the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby is ongoing, with police holding several other suspects in custody. The incident remains shrouded in mystery as reports that the killer’s accomplice, Michael Adebolajo, 28, was once recruited by the United Kingdom’s domestic counter-intelligence agency MI5.
