A case of mistaken identity led to a Florida teen being jailed for 35 days on charges of sexual battery. Cody Williams, then 17 years old, was arrested two months after a young girl reported her assault to police—instead of another boy of the same name, who went to the same school. “I can’t even tell you the horror of hearing those words,” the other Williams said upon arrest. “My heart just started beating really fast and all my insides just kind of dropped.” The officers involved are being counseled and one faces suspension.
