WWE legend Bret Hart’s Hall of Fame induction speech was interrupted Saturday night by a fan who rushed into the ring and tried to take The Hitman down. Video of the encounter shows security workers and other wrestlers rushing to Hart’s aid and piling on the interloper at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center. TMZ reported that the incident was not a publicity stunt and that wrestling champ Dash Wilder punched the unnamed fan in the face as security was dragging him away. The man was reportedly removed from the building, and Hart finished his speech.
If you didn't see it here's #BretHart being assaulted during the #WWEHOF speech. Disgusting. Something like this should never happen again. Seriously @WWE stoo allowing fans to attend #WWEHallOfFame ceremonies. Talents & media press only. #WrestleMania #HallOfFame #HartFoundation pic.twitter.com/6Fwo3dxBbI
