Glenn Jacobs—better known as terrifying, choke-slamming, arson-enthusiast and former WWE professional wrestling champion Kane—has been elected mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. One of WWE’s longest-tenured performers, Jacobs has been scaring children as the red-masked giant since the 1990s. Jacobs, 51, was opposing Democratic nominee Linda Haney in the heavily Republican area—he will officially will take over as mayor of Knox County on Sept. 1. Many WWE icons traveled to Tennessee during Jacobs’ campaign to help fundraising efforts, including his on-screen brother and one of the WWE’s most famous wrestlers, The Undertaker (whose real name is Mark Calaway). Jacobs previously said that if he was elected he would still like to appear in the ring on special occasions.
