The New Jersey Department of Health announced on Sunday that a ninth child has died from an adenovirus outbreak at a rehabilitation facility in the state. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is assisting local authorities, and the Wanaque Center, where the adenovirus broke out, is not admitting new residents in the meantime. “We are working every day to ensure all infection control protocols are continuously followed and closely monitoring the situation at the facility,” said Dr. Shereef Elnahal, the state’s health commissioner.
