I recently started looking for a new blender after committing to eating healthier at the beginning of the year. Eating healthy gets harder as you age, especially when you’re shuttling between work, the gym, walking the dog, and other responsibilities, leaving little time to prepare a healthy meal.

The Beast Blender Mighty 850 has come in clutch, helping me blend my daily proprietary mix of Chia seeds, blueberries, protein powder, almond milk, Greek yogurt, and baby spinach into a protein-forward smoothie that helps meet my daily fiber and protein goals. But I’ve learned that the Beast Blender can do much more than just make smoothies.

I knew I needed something small, easy to use, and easy to clean. Something I could use multiple times a day, handle frequently, and clean up quickly. I thought I’d wind up saying that the Beast blender is a simple daily-use blender that won’t replace the bigger ones, but I’ve had mine for over a year and used it multiple times a day.

Beast Mighty 850 Plus Personal Blender

It’s held up, and our old-school, big-boy blender has been gathering dust. That isn’t to say the Beast Blender will replace a heavier-duty blender, but rather: how often do you need to grind bones, tree bark, or make industrial-sized batches of nut butter?

Overall, the Beast blender shines in its simplicity (a single button) and its power (600-1200 watts, depending on the model). Since my Beast blender is compact enough to live on the kitchen counter and easy to clean and reuse, I use it to quickly chop veggies for a sauté or make my own healthy dressings and marinades in a snap.

I had a brief phase where I used it to make cocktails and sorbets, so I can attest to its usefulness there, but again the whole point of this compact blender is to support my journey towards healthy eating, so I’m no longer making desserts or drinks with it.

It’s the most no-fuss, no-muss product I own, aside from my headphone stand. Plus, the Beast Blender is portable and quiet enough to bring on the road if you want to make smoothies—or margaritas—in your hotel room. It’s also the simplest blender on the market to use: One button. One speed. No regrets. If you’re looking to change your diet or are just sick of the hassle of popular big-box “professional” blenders, the Beast Blender is probably exactly what you need.
