Cape Cod Shark Attack Victim Identified as Engineering Student From Brazil
The 26-year-old man who was fatally attacked by a shark in Cape Cod on Saturday has been identified as Arthur Medici. Medici, a resident of Revere, was born and raised in Brazil but relocated to the U.S. for college, according to a GoFundMe page set up to cover funeral expenses. Medici was engaged to a “kind-hearted medical student with a bright future” and was reportedly with his fiancée’s brother when he was killed, the page said. Police say he was boogie boarding about 300 yards south of Newcomb Hollow Beach in Wellfleet when the shark attacked. All ocean-side beaches in the area have been closed until further notice.
