Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said in a Saturday morning tweet that he’d been released from the hospital after a week-long stay for COVID-19. He gave no details about his current state, his recovery, or how severe his bout of the virus was. “I will have more to say about all of this next week,” he tweeted. CNN had reported Friday that Christie was taking the experimental anti-viral drug remdesivir, which President Trump also took. Christie checked himself into the hospital a week ago—a precaution, he said, because he has a history of asthma. But few details about his illness have trickled out since. Christie is one of at least a dozen people who attended a Sept. 26 Rose Garden event and later tested positive, and he also took part in debate prep with others who contracted the virus.
I am happy to let you know that this morning I was released from Morristown Medical Center. I want to thank the extraordinary doctors & nurses who cared for me for the last week. Thanks to my family & friends for their prayers. I will have more to say about all of this next week.
