The 5-year-old boy tossed over a third-floor railing at the Mall of America, allegedly by a stranger with mental health issues, is “still very much with us and fighting,” a family friend wrote on a GoFundMe page. The child, identified only as Landen, was visiting the Minnesota shopping center with his mother and another child when Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda allegedly accosted him and threw him, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. According to the GoFundMe page, Landen is expected to survive his extensive injuries but “has a very long road to recovery ahead of him… He has many surgeries ahead in his life to try to get back to a normal life for a young, vibrant boy.” Aranda is being held on suspicion of attempted murder. Police said they have no idea why he allegedly assaulted the boy.
