The remains of former President George H.W. Bush arrived at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., Monday evening for several days of tributes. The elder Bush’s casket landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland Monday afternoon. An arrival ceremony involving both the House and the Senate began at 4:45 p.m. ET at the Capitol. The 41st president will lie in repose in the Capitol rotunda until Wednesday morning. Members of the public are allowed to pay their respects from 7:30 p.m. ET Monday to 8:45 a.m. ET Wednesday. On Wednesday, family and friends will gather at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., for an 11 a.m. ET memorial service. President Trump has designated Wednesday as a national day of mourning, according to the White House.
