Is This the Best Charles Murray Can Do?—David Frum
Charles Murray's book has generated a lot of comment, most of it negative.
His recent replies to those criticisms in the Daily Caller, however, suggest that the commentary was not nearly negative enough. I find it incredible and appalling that anyone who has lived through the past four years could say the following:
Murray confided that he “had several journalists, both broadcast and print, say to me that when they have gone out to do stories about the recession, and their objective is to portray guys out there desperately looking for work, and they can’t find it.”
Murray airily dismisses the possibility that declining wages for working-class men might contribute to the diminished supply of their labor, or that similar trends in other countries might possibly carry some insights for understanding the trend in this country.
It's not very surprising that you deliver bad answers when you fail to acknowledge the questions.
