Kate Spade’s Funeral Will Take Place in Kansas City on Thursday
GOODBYE
Fashion designer Kate Spade’s funeral will be held in Kansas City, on Thursday. The service will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Catholic Church, the same place of worship as where Spade’s grandparents were married. “I imagine there will be a crowd,” Spade’s father Frank Brosnahan told the Kansas City Star. Spade, 55, who built a multi-million dollar fashion empire, died by suicide on June 5 in her New York home. Page Six reported that Spade is survived by her husband Andrew, 13-year-old daughter Frances Beatrix Spade, her 90-year-old father and his wife, as well as four sisters and a brother, and seven nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, mourners have been asked to donate instead to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or to Wayside Waifs, Kansas City’s largest no-kill animal shelter and pet adoption campus. Those wishing to can leave messages of remembrance for Spade here.
