Fast food chain Chipotle Mexican Grill is once again facing the threat of a potential infection after reports emerged that employees at a Los Angeles franchise were suffering from nausea and diarrhea. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health confirmed to The Daily Beast that its Acute Communicable Disease Control (ACDC) unit is actively investigating reports from employees at the Chipotle at 4550 West Pico Blvd., in the city’s Vineyard neighborhood, as first reported on the site iwaspoisoned.com. The company’s stock prices fell 4.6 percent after news of the latest potential outbreak broke; according to Bloomberg, the fast food chain’s overall stock performance had fallen 17 percent in 2017. The ACDC confirmed to The Daily Beast that the Chipotle storefront remains open, that no other Chipotle franchise locations have reported similar reports, and that the cause of illness remains undetermined.
