Melissa McCarthy Defends Her Controversial Elle Cover: Melissa McCarthy's cover of Elle magazine has already garnered some serious criticism. For the November issue, the actress sports a draped, charcoal coat, leading commentators to speculate that Elle was attempting to hide her full figure -- while other covers for the magazine's "Women in Hollywood" issue featured Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley clad in tight, revealing black numbers. On Monday, McCarthy herself addressed the brewing scandal, explaining that the magazine's stylists actually dressed her in a sexy black dress. 'What I found so bizarre is I picked the coat," McCarthy said. "I grabbed the coat. I covered up. I had a great black dress on but I thought, it comes out in November. I was so sick of summer. I live in Southern California. I was like, 'Give me a big coat to wear. Give the girl some cashmere!'" [E! Online]
