Note to Readers

Thanks to all who've submitted applications for the deputy editor spot. The application window is now closed as I work through the many impressive candidates who have submitted resumes and ideas. Noah Kristula-Green will run the shop through the end of the summer, and will post his goodbyes before his departure.

Many readers have suggested in the comments below and via email that one thing we could immediately do to enhance the blog is promote more interaction with the (excellent) comments and commentators we receive. That comment is heard and will be obeyed. In the weeks ahead, look for some innovations and experiments along just these lines.
