Rebel Wilson Opens Up About ‘Stress Eating’ Ahead of Book, Film Releases
HONESTY HOUR
Rebel Wilson opened up about the personal cost of producing and releasing new work, telling People that she started “stress eating” and gained 20 pounds in the past six months as she dashed between creative projects, including her first film as a director and the release of her memoir. “I definitely think why I’ve been stress eating the last few months is knowing that now all this stuff will come out into the world,” she told People. “I felt like I needed protection, so I had a bit more desserts and put up a bit of a barricade.” Wilson refers to herself as an “emotional eater,” and she doesn’t want fans to get the wrong idea about the relationship between weight loss and mental health. “People often out there think that there’s some magic pill, or some sick special diet, or exercise regime or whatever,” she said. “It’s not about that stuff. It’s literally about working at a healthier way to deal with your emotions, and there is no magic solution.” Wilson accused former co-star Sacha Baron Cohen of pressuring her to get naked in their film The Brothers Grimsby and to perform lewd acts against her wishes.
