The Boston Red Sox edged closer to claiming their ninth World Series title after rallying against the Los Angeles Dodgers to clinch a 9-6 win in Game 4 on Saturday night. After losing to the Dodgers in a record-breaking 18-inning Game 3 a night earlier, the odds appeared stacked against them in Game 4 as their rivals gained a 4-0 lead. But they came back to life in the seventh inning, thanks to pinch-hitter Mitch Moreland’s three-run homer and then Steve Pearce’s tying home-run in the eighth. They finished it all off with a five-run burst in the ninth inning, giving them a 3-1 lead ahead of Game 5 on Sunday. “All of a sudden they score a few runs, and sometimes that right there can spark an offense,” Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez said of the team’s rally against the Dodgers. “I’ve never been on a team where you just get punched in the face and then come back tomorrow and act like they are totally fine. It’s impressive.”
