Rep. Steve King (R-IA) came to Joe Biden’s defense on Twitter late Wednesday in the wake of misconduct allegations against the former vice president. “Irrational Democrat media assault on @JoeBiden,” tweeted King, who is no stranger to controversy himself for questioning earlier this year why the term “white supremacist” is a bad thing. “You would think he had “sexual relations” with an intern in the Oval Office...except Democrats aggressively defended Bill Clinton. Joe Biden is just an affectionate guy,” King wrote. Biden, a potential 2020 contender, released a video on social media Wednesday saying he’ll be more “mindful” of people’s personal space after several women accused him of inappropriate touching or failing to respect boundaries. “In my career I’ve always tried to make a human connection, that’s my responsibility,” Biden said. “Whether they’re men, women, young, old—it’s the way I've always been. It’s the way I try to show I care about them and I’m listening... It’s just who I am,” he said, adding that he recognized the need to “respect” personal space more in the future.
