BACK IN THE CHAIR

(Hopefully) putting an end to conservative conspiracies that the justice is dead.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg returned to the Supreme Court on Friday for the first time since she underwent surgery to remove two malignant nodules in her lung. Ginsburg faced her third bout with cancer in December, and had a pulmonary lobectomy on Dec. 21. There is now reportedly “no evidence” of remaining cancer. The justice has since been at home recovering, and has continued to serve her role on the court by reading briefs and transcripts of oral arguments. But as The Daily Beast reported previously, that didn’t stop conservatives from speculating that the justice was either hiding a secret illness or—even more ridiculously—that she was dead.
