A real-life transformer battle is about to take place.
The megabot duel out of Michael Bay’s fever dreams will pit America against Japan—and this fight promises to be much more competitive than the last time these two countries duked it out.
“We’re bringing video games and science fiction to life in the form of internally piloted giant fighting robots. This is the kind of live entertainment we’ve all been promised for dozens of years, and it’s the kind of entertainment that’s finally possible with current robotics technology,” MegaBots co-founder Gui Cavalcanti told Engadget.
Kogoro Kurata, the Victor Frankenstein to his KURATAS, said in a video response to the duel: “We cannot let another country win this. Giant robots are Japanese culture.”
The two companies have yet to set a date for the robotic smackdown but watch this space—the second the battle date is announced, The Daily Beast will be all over it.
