A town hall broadcast with the ex-president may have been the final nail in the newsman’s coffin.

Acknowledging the role his town hall broadcast likely played in getting Chris Licht fired, Donald Trump publicly apologized on Saturday to the former CNN boss. “Mr. Licht, sorry about that!” Trump said at a North Carolina rally. While Licht was roundly pilloried for the live event stacked with MAGA supporters, Trump said he “actually did a good job” with the town hall. “They got tremendous numbers,” he said of the ratings. “And they fired him.”
