President Trump is apparently irritated that Bob Woodward did not interview him for his upcoming book, Fear: Trump in the White House, sources told CNN. The book, written by the journalist of Watergate fame, is about life in the Trump administration and is set for release next Tuesday. Woodward allegedly tried to interview Trump and spoke to top officials about the matter, but it didn’t work out—possibly because of a new policy by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly to keep such interviews for books off White House grounds, CNN reports. Trump recently complained to confidants that he did not get to speak with Woodward. The White House and Simon & Schuster did not respond to CNN’s request for comment. Trump recently lambasted Woodward’s former reporting partner Carl Bernstein over a story Bernstein wrote about Trump’s knowledge of the 2016 Trump Tower meeting. The CNN report states that sources with knowledge of the Woodward book are “stunned by the level of detail” he learned about happenings inside the Trump White House, including his access to internal documents, emails, and memos.
