Donald Trump’s new White House press secretary has an ambitious ask for who will play her on Saturday Night Live.

In an interview on right-wing Real America’s News with Jack Posobiec on Thursday, Katie Zacharia, 41, suggested a BAFTA and Tony-award-winning actress should step into her shoes.

“I know it’s coming. I think, who would I like to have play me?” Zacharia told Posobiec, before replying: “Maybe a Scarlett Johansson type character.”

“I could see that,” Posobiec replied, “She’s on there a lot, I could see that.”

Johansson, 41, is the wife of SNL’s co-head writer and Weekend update host Colin Jost. They met when Johansson was hosting the long-running comedy sketch show and have been together since May 2017, marrying in 2020.

Johansson has hosted SNL seven times, the only woman to have hosted so frequently. She first hosted in 2006, and has also made numerous cameos on the show over the years. She has hosted more times than former cast regular Tina Fey and Drew Barrymore, another former child star.

Zacharia shot into the spotlight this week after Donald Trump announced he had chosen her to be his new press secretary on Oct. 9.

She replaces Karoline Leavitt, who left the White House in Late August after having her second child in May.

Zacharia’s first press conference on Oct. 13 was dominated by awkward blunders. She accidentally referred to the president as her husband, and stumbled through her talking points.

Her interview with Posobiec was an opportunity for her to clean up after herself, but the appearance did not do the trick.

Since her appointment, Zacharia’s background has also come under scrutiny, particularly her apparent attempts to represent herself as a lawyer, despite never having passed the bar exam.

She claimed it wasn’t necessary because she wasn’t representing herself as a practicing attorney, though she has appeared on television numerous times as a legal expert.

Up until February 2026, Zacharia was also on the board of a right wing anti-choice organization that has previously advocated for women who have abortions to get the death penalty.

She is reportedly unpopular among Trump’s inner circle, and has caused friction with Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
