The owner of the phone UFC fighter Conor McGregor smashed filed a lawsuit seeking over $15,000 in damages, the New York Post reports. The alleged victim, 22-year-old Ahmed Abdirzak, accused McGregor of “battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress” after the fighter “punched” the phone out of his hand and stomped on it Monday morning when Abdirzak tried to take a photo of him. “The defendant then picked up the smashed phone and slipped it into his pocket before strutting to a waiting SUV,” the suit reportedly reads. When Abdirzak asked McGregor for his $1,000 phone back, the fighter allegedly “laughed” and shouted “F–k you!” McGregor was arrested for the incident, which occurred in a Florida hotel parking lot, and charged with “strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief.” McGregor’s attorney, Samuel Rabin, reportedly called the case a “quick effort seeking a payday.”
