Kate Gosselin's Top 10 Angry Moments

The embattled, soon-to-be-divorced reality-TV mom has taken a lot of flak for her treatment of her husband, her kids—well, everyone. The Daily Beast takes a look at the top 10 moments of Kate’s rage.

Bonus: Kate 2.0, Sort Of

After an emergency hiatus, Jon & Kate Plus 8 resumed August 3 with a more subdued, even warmer Kate. Luckily, this clip of her complaining about what appears to be a brand new kitchen reminds us of the Kate we love to be irritated by.

Bonus: Your Temporary Feeling of Being Useful Makes Me Laugh

Clearing some trees for a set of play houses for the kids made Jon feel like man. Kate notices and takes action.

Bonus: Kate Angrily Says Jon is the Angry One

Kate, barefoot and simmering with icy hatred, blames Jon for the state of their relationship, citing the fact he “won’t talk to me,” and adding, with a hint of menace, “I don’t know if he even realizes the repercussions of the decisions he’s making today.”

10. Cleanliness Is Next to Kateliness

It’s not so crazy to check in on the new cleaning lady. Firing her after Day 1 for not dusting behind a hamper? That’s extreme.

9. This Looks Like Fun…

After a fun family day, the kids are allowed ice cream for dinner! But watch the freakout that ensues when a child dares to get a grass stain. You can practically hear cries of “No wire hangers” in the distance…

8. Spousal Support

Kate is famous for berating her husband—about his thinning hair, the way he speaks, and, infamously, for breathing too loudly. This clip, though it may seem no more than teasing, is a prime example of Kate’s willingness to mock her husband on camera.

7. Queen on a Plastic Throne

Some moms would be thrilled that their husbands want to play with their kids. Not Kate—the usual insults ensue when Jon would rather enjoy his kids than take Kate’s orders and clean the garage. In this rare clip, however, Jon fights back.

6. Color Me Compulsive

Kate, if you don’t want your kids to play with markers, you probably shouldn’t take them to the place where they manufacture and pass out markers. Just sayin’.

5. Skating to Freedom?

Jon is screamed at from across the neighborhood by Kate as he rollerblades away with his two oldest kids. In hindsight, this clip is strangely prophetic.

4. Gumgate

In this episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8: Aunt Jodi, Kate’s sister-in-law, makes the colossal mistake of giving the sextuplets gum while they are in her care. We get being upset that your kid are covered in gum. But calling your sister-in-law, who babysat seven of your kids all day, and complaining? That takes cojones.

3. Merry Christmas to Me! Uh, You!

Jon and Kate decide to get the kids puppies for Christmas. Only Kate gets to pick the puppies and their names. Her picks? Shoka and Nahla. Good thing she didn’t let the kids name them something really crazy like “Buddy.”

2. Sit, Jon. Stay.

The shout heard ’round the world. We wonder if, now that Kate has two dogs, she’ll stop making her husband feel like one?

1. Soaring Heights of Ungrateful

Jon and Kate are getting solar panels installed on their home by the Emmy Award-winning Steve Thomas, former host of This Old House. Kate is inexplicably rude the entire episode and takes nasty to new heights when Steve asks her to look at his work.

Even when you factor in the challenges of raising 8 small children, she comes across as an insufferable, controlling shrew.

stress or not, Kate is not a pleasant person to her spouse--she is demeaning and rude. her children will be suffering for her mistakes, and this is the tragedy here--a broken home and torn loyalties.

Well, conservative in the modern traditional sense. Which means abortion is the most important thing in the world and she doesn't know what any other issues are. That's what I gather from the show.

I would add her refusal to learn about the concept of lowering their footprint. I saw the episode with the solar panel installation etc and she was extremely rude and totally closed minded to the idea that energy conservation will help/save the planet and save her money.

They got thousands and thousands of dollars worth of panels etc and she was a TOTAL bitch.
Jon pointed out she's helping the planet for her kids' grandkids and Kate said the planet won't be here that long. hmmmmm

I've been watching the show since it first began, and I was a longtime critic of Kate's attitude towards basically all the people around her. But I do find it quite offensive that you would say that because she and Jon personally decided not to abort any of her children, that they are "conservative in the modern traditional sense", which you condescendingly imply to mean ignorant and religious.

Let me start off to say that I am definitely pro-choice. I believe that no woman and no family should EVER have that choice taken away from them. But abortion is also a very personal CHOICE. Just because Jon and Kate decided not to abort doesn't mean that they want abortions to be illegal. But if that's what you "gather from the show", sorry to say, I highly doubt it's true.

BTW, I'm really sick of all the people who watch this show just because of the current media storm around this family. And then they go off and think it's okay to ridicule it cause hey, they've seen the actions of the people on it firsthand. These people probably say they only watch cause they care for the kids, yet they relish in the drama and insecurity surrounding Kate and Jon's marriage. It's really irritating to me. Sorry, that's a bit irrelevant, but I just wanted to say it anyway.

Way shallow. And NOT fair to "her asian [sic] dude." (And if only a good f**k and a cheeseburger could really be THE answer to a train wreck marriage.)
I don't know these two people. I'm guessing that you don't either. So my "take" on this is as valid as yours. And here it is...
Kate's behavior--in FRONT of cameras--is obnoxious, derisive and dictatorial. I can't imagine how she behaves when the cameras aren't running.
Her husband seems as passive as she is aggressive; as laid-back/hands-off as she is over-controlling. Bad combo--especially when you've got eight (and who's choice was that?) small children to corral.
You could be right...they might both need a good and glorious roll in the hay. But trust me, at this point their mutual disdain for each other wouldn't even buy them the 6-45 seconds of cheap "release" you allude to in your response.
I'm a woman (and one with a strong feminist bent), but here's what I've observed in this situation: Kate's a bully. That doesn't mean that Jon deserves a free pass for adultery. But let's be fair here. And let's not feign surprise when a bully--be it male or female--drives away the person who once loved him/her.

This woman is obnoxious, rude and shrill. She needs to be assessed for her OCD and should sign up for parenting classes. She states that she guesses she doesn't see other people...she got that right.

You forgot the clip where she completely freaked out because Jon went to the hardware store without a coupon. That was the episode where I decided that I couldn't take it anymore. This woman is a complete nutjob.

Gee, I would have thought fer shur that she's a liberal. She's uninformed and proud of it, short attention span, everything is always everyone else's fault, and -- most importantly -- she wants everything for FREE without having to work for it!

I think its a shame that many in the media are trying to paint Kate as a mean, controlling, manipulative wife that drove her husband to cheat. Yeah, she can be a bit controlling, but her husband comes off as immature and spineless. They are both equally bad, but of course we have to find a way to blame the woman and paint her as the root of all their problems.

I was thinking about some of what you write. She did give birth to all those healthy children. She does look healthy herself but seems to rain on everybody else's parade. It appears she has a to-do list, first on the list: "do as I say". The gum scene was downright sadistic towards the little boy, so was the marker scene where the little girl cries because she is not allowed to use markers. Same with the grass scene, heaven help that the kids get their clothes soiled.
No child psychologist will side with Kate. She has no clue about the extraordinary life around her, so she supresses it. As she said outside the supermaket, she "doesn't notice people around" her.

actually, what is actually going on is usually called 'abuse'. she abuses her husband plain and simple. public humiliation is never justified. they are not 'equally bad'. it was her fault. if it was a controlling husband berating his wife publicly there would be no question in your mind.

I do not condone Jon cheating on Kate, but it is now understandable. She is downright mean to both her husband and kids. Obsessed about grass stains on toddlers? Come on! Ungrateful to her sister-in-law because of gum on socks and a toy bear?. The show should be canceled. We no longer watch it.

I am predicting these kids will star in their own reality show 15-20 years from now. "Intervention for 8"

This pair are nothing more than shameful morons who are risking seriously messing up those kids lives.

I agree. Kate was sadistic when she was telling her Son she was throwing away his most precious item of comfort and he was crying so hard and she just said it again. Sadly, this woman does not really care about her children.
In the clips, she gets worse and worse as time goes on. In the final clip, when they're in their "mcmansion", she is HORRIBLE! She appears to think that getting FREE solar panels is no big deal! I guess it isn't since she and her family have been getting EVERYTHING that they showcase on their show forFREE. I hope her children can get some people in their lives who really love them. Obviously, her family wants nothing to do with her and that is so understandable now. Jon's family may have nothing to do with them for exactly the same reason - he has a cold-hearted, mean-spirited woman for a wife. Jon is not perfect but you can tell he's kind and loving to his children; the kids ALWAYS, ALWAYS go to Jon for comfort.
Kate is a nasty woman who will someday be all alone, once the kids are old enough to move out. Jon needs to give up the big money and get away from Kate and get complete custody of the children. I'm certain they would choose Jon over Kate.
I used to watch this show every single week but NO MORE; she turns my stomach!

For everyone who is calling this guy 'spineless-, just think one moment:

You're with your wife and kids in a public area, when your wife starts berating you. You know from (vast) prior experience that she won't stop if you ask-your asking will only lead to a loud, protracted argument. So you're left with two choices:

a) Ask her to stop, knowing of the argument that will soon be a loud public display (in this case, a 'public' of millions).

or

b) Just keep your mouth shut and let her do her thing.

If you choose a), you look like an ass****, if you choose b), you look like a wimp.

It's a classic lose/lose situation.

This guy needs to run from this situation. The kids are already in trouble emotionally from their wacky mom-it will only be worse if dad is there in an unhappy marriage.

good luck.....

been watching since 1st episode, still watching. why? great tragi-comedy. Don't take show serioulsy. don't buy sponsor products/services. At least Emeril told Kate, "Leave him alone." then she smacked him. great. can you imagine [?] Emeril must be furious that section was aired. 100th episode. Ha-ha, but all the way to the bank. 100 X $50,000 to 75,000 per episode, plus books, speaking engagements, etc. Calculate.

Wonder where the article is about his 10 most angry moments? Don't you see that her act simply protects him and lets him off the hook. I've only watched for 4 minutes and heard his comments alternate between scathing abuse and poor me. She takes all the fire so he doesn't have to. She agrees with him that she should do all the work and he should not have to reach out to her to make her happy. Fairly typical dynamics, just happens to be on TV.

Thank you. The narrative the media seems to be spinning is that she is the reason for all their problems. I have not seen much commentary on how inappropriate it is for a man with 8 small children to go bar hopping so often or going on vactation with his mistress on his wife's birthday. Both of these people are in the wrong, no doubt, but why is the media only targeting Kate?

Am not denying that they have problems together and have only themselves to blame. The incidents that really bugged me were the dog naming, marker using, bear throwing out and garage incident. I think she is completely wack in these cases. She doesn't need her husband there to show it, either.

The yelling across the store, so what. The discussion with the contractor at the end, BFD - he's a grown up. Adults should stand up for themselves, as should Jon, but these poor kids. They get to be humiliated, reprimanded and basically are not allowed to express themselves.

First of all, who are these people? Who watches them and why? They've been infiltrating my life for weeks now and I neither know nor care who they are.

Second of all, this woman kate is just dispicable. Jon needs to grow a back bone and get the heck out of there. What a shame that these two people brought eight children into the world.

Lastly, I do have some sympathy for Kate. A tribe of eight needs a chief, and I think she feels she has to be the enforcer at home to keep things on an even keel. I can actually relate to that. She's overwhelmed, but rather then screaming and kicking her way to control, she needs to get some help.

Along with the OctoMom, Kate's claim to fame is confusing the birth canal with a clown car & there's a reality TV show about it? What's even more fascinating is that there's an audience & numerous fan clubs on Facebook?!? We are all doomed.
