Max Blumenthal

Queen of the Birthers

BS Top - Blumenthal Orly Taitz A new poll finds 58 percent of Republicans doubt Obama is American. Orly Taitz, the mastermind behind the Obama birth-certificate controversy, tells The Daily Beast’s Max Blumenthal why the president should be jailed and why Lou Dobbs is her biggest fan.

Almost as soon as Orly Taitz answered her cellphone, before I could even ask a single question, the leader of the movement determined to disprove President Obama’s American citizenship breathlessly told me the president was “connected” to 39 bogus Social Security numbers, including one for a deceased person born in 1890. “If Obama is not stopped, we will be in Nazi Germany!” Taitz, who has a thick Russian accent, shrieked. “Forgery is a criminal matter and he committed it. Obama should be in the Big House, not the White House!”

Since Taitz’s “birther” campaign began, in the summer of 2008, during the late stages of the Democratic primaries, the dentist, lawyer, and mother of three has begun winning friends in high places. Taitz told me excitedly that since she opened her Facebook account, she has had to hire a staff of five to process the thousands of friend requests she receives each week.

“Anybody who does not take Obama’s word at face value will be harassed by brownshirts like Rachel Maddow,” said Taitz.

Among those requesting her online friendship, Taitz said, are House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA), Rep. Mary Bono (R-CA), and Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele. She has even received a request, she said, from someone saying they are Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “I personally checked [the request] and determined that it came from his office,” Taitz said.

Among Taitz’s “biggest supporters,” she said, is CNN anchor Lou Dobbs. “I did Lou’s radio show for half an hour and he was very understanding,” she told me. “He became a supporter and since then he became a supporter of the whole [Obama eligibility] issue.” Indeed, during the July 15 broadcast of Dobbs’ radio show, he praised Taitz’s work, suggested Obama might be “undocumented,” and demanded the president “show the documents” to prove he was born in the United States.

When I spoke to Taitz, she had just finished taping an interview with The Colbert Report. By her own count, she has been interviewed by no fewer than 170 news outlets around the world. While she’s grateful for the exposure, the scrutiny of the media seems to have her in a persistent state of heightened exasperation.

“This is Nazi Germany! These are brownshirts in action!” Taitz exclaimed when asked about recent segments by Rachel Maddow, Keith Olbermann, and Jon Stewart mocking her campaign and questioning her credibility. “Anybody who does not take Obama’s word at face value will be harassed by brownshirts like Rachel Maddow.”

Taitz’s apparent view of present-day American life through the lens of World War II Europe may be due in part to her upbringing in the Soviet republic of Moldova and then in Israel, where she lived until she immigrated to the U.S. in 1987. Now a resident of Buena Park, California, Taitz said she feared Obama would transform her adopted country into a totalitarian state as soon as he stepped onto the national stage. Reading online discussions about Obama’s supposed plan to create a “civilian national security force” aroused Taitz’s early alarm.

“I realized that Obama was another Stalin—it’s a cross between Stalinist USSR and Nazi Germany,” she said.

After becoming transfixed by online conspiracy theories claiming Obama’s family had forged his birth certificate in Hawaii, Taitz snapped into action. She filed a lawsuit in June 2008 with California Secretary of State Debra Bowen demanding an investigation into Obama’s eligibility to serve as president. Taitz’s plaintiff in the case was Wiley Drake, an Orange County radio preacher and former second vice president of the Southern Baptist Convention who has acknowledged he once publicly prayed for Obama’s death.

Orly Taitz has dual US/Israel citizenship. Her law "degree" is from Taft, an unaccredited correspondence outfit.

Taitz is doing this because she feels Obama is bad for Israel, and believes if she makes enough noise, he will be driven from office. She is petty and vindictive, like other refuseniks like Lieberman and Sharansky.

Israel is now run by right wingers, steering the country down the same road as South Africa. They have forgotten BenGurion's principles, encouraged by US evangelicals who want a violent confrontation to hasten the Second Coming.

Hagee is a closet anti-Semite, who trashes us in private. He hates Judaism and Jewish culture, and wants it destroyed like the Nazis. Jews who get in bed with him are like Nazi collaborators.

I have many Arab friends, and they must be treated with dignity. I want Jewish culture to flourish, and it cannot when we mistreat others. Because of what was done to us, does not give us license to do it in turn.

Thank you, I could not agree with you more.
The religious right resolve their conflict with Israel like this.
They are anti-semetic because Jews killed their God.
They support Judaism only in as much as it is the foundation of their faith and the fact that Jesus was Jewish. The only case of evolution they believe in, is Jews evolving into Christians. Ann Coulter makes the point.
They have no link with Islam and so they are in total opposition.
They therefore support the Jewish state of Israel in an attempt to maintain access and influence until the day of the second coming. At that point their hatred of the Jews will be unmasked and their demand that everyone submit to their way, will be absolute. It is sick, and fortunately a fantasy. No God of creation would align with such self obsessed, greedy, ignorant and down right nasty people.

There are similarities and differences in the story of our conflict in South Africa, but there are real lessons in how to navigate the inevitable process of negotiations without pre-conditions. Bottom line, everyone wants a place in the sun, people demand respect and hate hypocrisy.

In a way, Obama is to Israel what Mandela is to South Africa, a chance for reconciliation. This must not be mistaken for absolution.

"In a way, Obama is to Israel what Mandela is to South Africa, a chance for reconciliation."

We should use Mandela and Tutu as our model, instead of licking our wounds. Obama wants to be the president who created Palestine, and I fully support him. I repeat: Arabs must be treated with dignity, and there are too many Israelis who do not. As one Palestinian co-worker once said to me "I didn't think there were any Jews like you."

openhand (clinched fist would be more appropriate). Your rant is sick and filled with hate and stereotype of some Nazi Hitler underpinnings. No real Christian hates. Yes, there are some idiots within the religion, but love is the most important thing for a Christian to show the fruits of their spirit (Corinthians 13). You mention a "case for evolution" which begs the question, HOw can you believe in God and evolution? You speak of hating hypocrisy, yet you are hypocrital when you say we "deny evolution" in one sentenence and then say "no God of creation would align themselves with such...." Do you wish to have it both ways? and if so how can you have any principals whatsoever for what you preach in this rant? If you are apologetic to the Jewish fate, then maybe you should read the book of Samual and how the Jewish people needed a king because they denied God and denied their faith. Where is your faith openhand? Is it in a man named Obama? CLearly it is and that is sad.

The Jews hung Jesus on a cross. Christians do not hate the jewish people for this because Christians know that Israel and the Jews are God's chosen people....and because, as Christians, we are taught to forgive and taught to love each other as he (Jesus) loved us. Clearly, this is difficult to do, but know self-respecting Christian hates in the same vane you do with this sloppy rant.

Yes!! And we enjoyed it. Rally 'round the cross, boys. Can't wait to get some more. We were just getting warmed up. And I have a vial of blood in my fridge.

"the Jewish people needed a king because they denied God and denied their faith."

How did you find out? Who let you in on the secret? My bar mitzvah was a sham - it's true. And I eat pork when no one is looking. Oh, well.

"The Jews hung Jesus on a cross. Christians do not hate the jewish people for this as Christians, we are taught to forgive and taught to love each other as he (Jesus) loved us. Clearly, this is difficult to do"

Gee, thanks for letting us off the hook, figuratively speaking of course.

Let me guess: next you're going to tell us that Auschwitz was divine retribution for not accepting Jesus - right? And that terror against Israel is divine retribution - how close am I? Someone in Palin's church, when I lived in Anchorage, told me that.

Another ignorant fundie bigot. Let me tell you this: my wife told me when I was in the hospital, in a coma from a stroke, some missionary came to my bed wanting to baptize me in case I did not wake up. She sent him away. Even though I was in a coma, I heard everything. When I was lucid, I told the RN to keep missionaries away from me.

Yuck. And I was raised by survivors. Did they deserve it?

Should I forgive you for callous statements? Clearly, this is difficult to do.

Roman soldiers executed Jesus on the orders of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea. As for why Pilate chose to do this, well, it was politics both imperial and local in nature.

clearthinker:

If you really were a clear thinker, you would realize that evolution is a scientific theorem, and faith is outside the realm of science. It is perfectly possible to believe in both God AND evolution...each in their proper place. The Bible, in the first chapters in Gen is about Who and Why. The How and When are not what it is discussing. The Bible does not claim to be a book of science as the 21st century understands it, so please, give it its dignity and proper place as a book of faith, bearing testimony to that which science cannot prove. Those who demand it to be a book of science misuse it. A lot of our difficulties in the middle east are because we try and use the bible to justify our foreign policy decisions, and end up pitting one people against another, which does not do honor to God.

Openhand's post says that the people he caricatures do NOT believe in evolution...not in a scientific sense, that is. The only "evolution" they DO believe is that all Jews will become Christians, something which is not supported by Paul in either Romans or Galatians.

Again, you say: If you are apologetic to the Jewish fate, then maybe you should read the book of Samual and how the Jewish people needed a king because they denied God and denied their faith. Where is your faith openhand?

Assuming you really meant "apologetic" in its correct meaning as "defense" I truly don't understand your post. You seem to state that the Jews are (eternally?) to blame because the Jewish people of the Biblical times demanded a king? And that has to do with the modern State of Israel how?

The far right of the Christian fundamentalist movement has a scenario that the rapture will initiate a period in the middle east, and will ultimately give Jews the choice: Become Christians, or die. They have a reading of Revelation that is truly bizare. And because of that, some of these people are encouraging hostilities in order that the Rapture may occur sooner rather than later. Aside from the nature of the God which underlies this theology, it is not God- or Christ- centered, but ultimately man-centered. We call this "heresy."

CalSailor - "If you really were a clear thinker, you would realize that evolution is a scientific theorem, and faith is outside the realm of science. It is perfectly possible to believe in both God AND evolution."

I agree. I am a born again Christian, or rather Christ follower - however lazy and reluctant I am about it at times. At the same time I also believe that some variant of what is called 'evolution' could most certainly be responsible for what is called Creation. In fact, I believe it to be true. Whether it's Intelligent Design or God as the Watchmaker or something else, the truth is that one never knows with God.

Job 37:5 - God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding.

Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.

I am an amateur astronomer, mostly armchair as I live in a big city, yet I am nevertheless aware that the Earth is in the suburbs of one galaxy among billions of galaxies the universe, which itself might be part of a great multiverse. Sometimes then I consider this I wonder if God really exists, but I remember...

Job 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

Hanging the earth upon nothing certainly sounds like the invisible force of gravity that keeps our planet in orbit around the sun. I have some doubts that Moses had any notion about gravity other than that things will fall down when dropped, so I think that knowledge came from somewhere else.

Of course, I might be a damned heretic. Perhaps clearthinker will let me know.

Note: I don't want to get into a theological argument with anyone about whether or not Moses wrote the Book of Job. My mind is too weak and lazy.

I always laugh at the stupidity of the "jews kileld Jesus" statements because it really is remarkable how stupid some people are. Besides being technically wrong, in that the Romans killed Jesus, its just an absurd statement that any GROUP of people killed anyone. Individuals kill, not races or ethnic groups. To assign all Jewish people responsibility for one murder 2,000 years ago is illogical but if you do apply that logic then be extension you have to assign all Christians responsibility for every murder and genocide committed by other Christians. As it happens many of the most infamous mass murderers in history and a disproportionate number of serial killers were Christians. Therefore by the logic of anti-Semites, ALL Christians are responsible for their actions.

Misha1000, the bad news is that Rev. Hagee is a closet anti-Semite. The worse news is that he supports Israel--or to be more precise, the worse news is WHY he supports Israel. Hagee believes that the Last Days approach and that one of the preconditions is that Israel must incorporate into its borders all the land of ancient Israel. Thus he makes common cause with the most extreme Israeli nationalists.

Of course any attempt to do this would cause an extremely bloody war, but what the heck, it is not called the Last Days for nothing. Hagee believes that peace in the Middle East is against God's Plan and will use his influence and money to keep it from happening.

You say Hagee believes that peace in the Middle East is against God's Plan? Then, if that is true, Rev Hagee has not read the Book of Revelations
It is very clearly stated there that the Last Days will not come until there is Peace in the Middle East. and somewhere else it states we all see as in a glass darkly. So, there. (no one will know neither the day or the hour of the Last Days ) and I could quote more but it would get draggy.

Chuchv:

This is one of the clearest readings of Hagee's beliefs I've seen recently. He is determined to do what he can to bring about the Rapture as soon as possible. The problem is that the time of the Rapture (which is a thin doctrine on which to hang a whole theology) is, in Hagee's belief, something which we can influence. In other words, In Hagee's beliefs, the Rapture is something WE do, not something God does. And again, it puts humankind at the center of the universe. It is that eternal narcissistic impulse at work again.

You state as a fact that Taitz has dual citizenship. How do you know this? Is she a US citizen? Have you seen the originals of her citizenship papers? What about the applications for citizenship? Seen the originals of those? How do we know she did not lie on the application? Wouldn't that void her alleged citizenship? Have we seen her original birth certificate, by the way?

"You state as a fact that Taitz has dual citizenship. How do you know this?"

I never saw any proof she renounced her Israel citizenship.

"Is she a US citizen?" Her three children were anchor babies. Five years after immigrating here, she became a citizen, through her children.

" Have we seen her original birth certificate, by the way?" She was born in Moldova, when it was part of the Soviet Union. If she could prove she was a refusenik, the Israel government gave her several priviledges. So I'm sure she showed the authorities she was born in the USSR - in fact she made sure they knew it.

Also, as a refusenik, she was given Israel citizenship almost immediately.

Whatever her motives why doesn't Obama release a real certificate and his college records? One of his relatives said he was born in Kenya. Ridiculing these people shows a lack of respect and that Obama is a bully. The reason why there are opposition parties in democracies is so that they can raise issue as these. Problem in USA is that almost all elected officials are spineless. Personal attacks are not answers to the questions. Obama speaks like Marx and acts like Stalin.

I don't truly believe the President is not a citizen. It is funny though the double standard that the press has in this.

Who here doesn't have their Birth Certificate? I have a copy of mine ( several in fact) and have had to provide it at various points in my life. This is such an easy controversy to resolve assuming that the President has his real certificate.

The real problem is if Hawaii really has no proof other than a certificate of live birth, and The President has none either. Why is this so? Are there thousands of other Hawaiians in the same position? THe media is treating this story like an albatross. Just chase all the facts down rather than saying that a Certificate of live birth is the same as birth certificate, or that the short form will suffice.

Too much of the story smells of deflection.

I was born in Louisiana and my real certificate is a Certificate of Live Birth so I assume ole Bobby Jindal's record of birth looks like mine and President Obamas. There was a three hour documentary on PBS on Obama's years at Harvard including the fact the he graduated at the very top of his class and some of his professors affirmed that he was the brightest student they had ever taught. Palin on the other had refused to release her college records, not Obama. Obama released his medical records in print to the press. McCain only allowed select members a few hours to review his in a medical facility and Palin refused to release hers. Palin did present a letter from a doctor similar to the one kid's get to go back to school after being out with an illness. Have you ever seen Bill Clinton or George Bush's birth certificate? If not, why not. How do you know that they are "Real" Americans.

Menkenlite:

Please define "release" a real certificate. Do you mean: Mail YOU a personal copy? Maybe he should mail it out to everyone in the US?He requested a copy of his birth certificate last year, as part of his campaign. He received a certified copy of the birth certificate on file in Honolulu, according to Hawaii State Law (BTW...where's YOUR ORIGINAL?...not a certified copy from the country courthouse where you were born...because if for some reason you can't find the original, that's how you solve the problem. You get a CERTIFIED COPY, and that's what he did.)

He posted photographic copies of his CERTIFIED birth certificate on the web...because that's all you can do on the web. You can't post a piece of paper...you post photos of the paper. Obama also made the copy he received from Hawaii available to legitimate reporters so they could attest to the FACT that the copy he has is what is posted on the net. The reporters have conducted an examination of the physical copy and posted their findings: He was born in Hawaii. (BTW they are from Florida, not Chicago...they are not part of any group of Obama's friends) Two different Honolulu papers, taking information released from the state records office, announced the birth in their paper within about a week of his brith. These records are not paid ads supplied by the families, but a simple listing of vital statistics, like every paper in the country. Mine posts births on Tuesdays. The Governor of Hawaii and the chief of the vital records in Honolulu have both attested to the authenticity of the records and that the copy of his birth certificate is correct.

As to the "relatives", the one who "says" he was born in Kenya, she said THE NEXT DAY, that she had misspoken, and that he was NOT born in Kenya. (she said she had misunderstood the question, as English is not her primary language, and misunderstood the interpreter). Did you perhaps miss that fact in your perusal of the coverage of this story.

Now, menkenlite:

PLEASE STATE CLEARLY what objections you still have. What would prove to you that his birth records properly exist?. (And if you say "nothing" you merely show that you are paranoid and gullible.)

How about Sen. McCain? He was born off-base in Panama City. Is HE a "natural born" citizen? How do you know?

And, all that has precisely what exactly to do with her argument? While I'm not familiar with everything she says and some of what I've heard I disagree with, how about trying to present a valid, intellectually-honest counter-argument?

I've asked, and asked, and asked again, and I can't find even a single person who can offer a valid, intellectually-honest counter-argument to my coverage of this issue:

24ahead.com/s/obama-citizenship

If you scroll to the list of posts on that page, you'll see a wide array of media sources that have lied about this issue. In fact, CNN just made something up: they claimed that HI's governor had verified BHO was born there, yet that never happened. In fact, HI's governor sends out a form letter noting that it would be illegal for her to verify he was born there. Despite that, CNN outright lied and said she'd verified it.

If all you've done is listened to hacks like Blumenthal and the MSM on this issue, please take a few minutes and look at the original documentation, such as the two press releases issued by HI. Then, compare that original documentation to what hacks like Blumenthal and MSM reporters have told you.

You're the one who is wrong. California is one of the few states which still allows law reading instead of school. Because Taft is unaccredited, she had to take a baby bar at the end of her first year, which she passed. Because Taft is unaccredited, she cannot practice law in any other state.

"William Howard Taft University is not accredited by the American Bar Association, nor is it seeking such accreditation because it is ineligible. No on-line law school is accredited by the American Bar Association. William Howard Taft Law School is not accredited by the State Bar of California.

The law school is not accredited by the American Bar Association. Because of this, students interested in taking the bar exam must take and pass the First-Year Law Students' Examination, "Baby Bar", at the end of their first year in order to receive credit for their law study and eventually qualify to sit for the California Bar Exam. Currently the State of California is the only U.S. jurisdiction that allows graduates of online law schools to sit for its bar exam."

You're back with your lazy, slanderous postings. If you took ANY time at all, you would know by now that the supposed Kenyan birth certificate is a hoax, perpetrated on Taitz. There are several points about that document that show fraud, not the least of which is that Kenya was not an independent country at the time of his birth! You are a sucker for what you want to believe instead of doing your homework so YOU (let alone the other birthers) look ridiculous.

One more note: to equate Obama with Hitler is beyond vile. And her BFF Wiley Drake, who openly says he wants Obama to literally die, is another closet anti-Semite.

These people are reptiles who slithered from under their rocks. How is this crowd going to de-ligitimize Corey Booker when he announces? I can see it now: Corsi and Martin will write a "book," claiming Booker was born in Canada, or his father was a student here on a visa - you know, the 2-parent rule that only birthers can find in the Constitution.

They can't stand the changing face of America, and are going mad. Like Crazy Eileen said full of emotion, "I want my country back." Sorry Eileen, Sotomayor is going to be confirmed, and one day we'll have a president named Gonzales - just like we now have a son of Kenya.

And the Israelis are going to have to learn to stand on their own. Tough love? Israel should turn itself into the Taiwan of the Middle East. I know - my wife is from Taipei.

One problem with the Israel as Taiwan of the Middle East. Taiwan has 100 miles of water separating it from China and has the US fleet as guarantor of its independence along with Matsu and Quemoy as the tripwire/sacrifices. Israel has .....open frontier populated by a bunch of people that do not like it. The US Med fleet is not enough to protect it or for that matter evacuate it.

China has 46,000 missiles aiming at Taiwan, so I think the comparison is correct in this aspect. Except that China is so much more powerful than Taiwan and can take over the tiny island any time if they want to. Israel, on the other hand, have the world's super power United States giving it lot's of economic and military aids and if the Arab nations attack Israel, US will no doubt come to it's aid while no help will be given to Taiwan. Taiwan is indeed the orphan of the world.

fk4711: China could certainly destroy Taiwan (nukes) or badly damage it (conventional missiles), but take over? China doesn't have the naval and military transport ships to force a landing on Taiwan in the face of the fire of Taiwan's military.

I really love you misha1000. Your precious little heart. I thought you were a woman on her period this whole time, but to find out your a man is just crazy.... I mean that with the most loving heart of course. You see, I as a christian love you, but you as a jew hate me. Amazing, that bible thing hasn't changed a bit in 2000 years. "You will be persecuted for my name's (Jesus) sake. You have ranted your little heart crazy throughout this thread. Your little fingers must be tired. Clearthinker:

I would suggest you look at the two posts you have previously written. You claim to be a Christian, yet you despise Misha...your words to the contrary appear to be satire. Jews do not hate Christians, but you know, they might be forgiven for doing so, as the history of Christianity's interaction with Judaism over the last 2000 years hasn't been so stellar. You might try reading Constantine's Sword, by James Carroll. Very good. Lots of food for thought.

Look back at your posts and ask: Do you really portray yourself as someone who loves? "you have ranted your little heart crazy..." "that the devil of pride will leave you" "your little fingers must be tired." is hardly the stuff of "love"...or else you have a strange definition. That is not agape, nor philos, nor even eros. Try again, please. And before you post, please try praying for a spirit of charity.

BTW: "I will pray for you that the devil of pride will leave you and you can be content with your king....Obama." What a word to write to a Jew OR another Christian. Misha isn't the one who has a problem with "pride."

Someone needs to do so more checking into her background. She's a loon.

I saw her on TV the other day claiming that the president needs not only to be born in America but so do both of his parents. Clearly she came to the U.S. after the ninth grade and missed Civics class. And she claims to be a lawyer!

Her comparisons to Nazi Germany are an insult to people who survived Nazi Germany. Her rantings about Obama's birth certificate I can ignore, but the trivialization of the terror of Hitler Germany makes my blood boil!

The comparisons to Hitler and Stalin are pure paranoia and are disrespectful to the tens of millions of people that they killed. The death tolls from WWII and Stalin's actions against his own people are the greatest attrocities in recorded histories. If she had any experience with real totalitarian government she would not compare Maddow or Olbermann to being Brownshirts. The fact that elected members in the house are listening to her makes me quite sad.

This whole birth certificate thing is a ruse and you ought to see it for what it is......foolishness. We Republicans have the Birthers, you Democrats have the whack jobs over at the Daily Kos who believe that Bush and Cheney somehow collaborated with 19 Middle eastern guys to take down the World Trade Center.

This is a non story and the more you guys bring it up and get all panties in a wad over this, the more the whack jobs are gonna think they are on to something. There are far more of these than the left wing loonies who believe that 911 was a Bush/Mossad plot. Every Rep congressman is going to have a torrid time in the upcoming recess when they will be heckled at every meeting by birthers.

You just exposed your ignorance even further, bcaldwell. It shows that, instead of actually visiting the Daily Kos and reading the posts, you have taken Bill O'Reilly's word about them. I visit the site every day, and have for over a year. I have yet to read a single blogger pushing the cretinous "truther" theory.

In fact, the majority of the truthers are right wingers or libertarians. They voted for Ron Paul en masse -- and you would be hard pressed to find a single diarist on the Daily Kos who endorsed that nutjob.

You accuse Blumenthal of being a shill for the Democrat party? What does that make you -- a FOX News parrot?

You are absolutely correct. I've never seen a truther on Daily Kos. Most there are too intelligent and well informed to be anything but bored with such nonsense. Uber progressive Thom Hartmann won't allow it to be discussed by any caller on his show. Never seen it on Ed, Keith or Rachel either.

The other night I was having a discussion with some politcal and well informed friends about birther nonsense and I brought up truthers. None of them had any idea what that was. Why? Because the democrats didn't try to use it and the msm wouldn't touch it. Bill O'Reilly is trying to dilute the idiocy of today's GOP's attraction to birther crap with false comparisons to the Daily Kos.

I found the KOS a couple of months ago and have found the opinions published there to be mostly reasonable [although, occasionally too crass for my tastes - but never, to-date, "fringe-lunatic"].

After reading your post, I sent them an email regarding your opine that they publish fringe lunatic opinions regarding Bush being involved in 9/11. This is their response [and, BTW, you sir, are an ashite]:

http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/DailyKos_FAQ#Controversial_Diary_Topics
DailyKos accepts that the 9/11 attacks were perpetrated by agents of Al-Qaeda. It is forbidden to write diaries that:

- refer to claims that American, British, Israeli, or any government assisted in the attacks

- refer to claims that the airplanes that crashed into the WTC and Pentagon were not the cause of the damage to those buildings or their subsequent collapse.

Authoring or recommending these diaries may result in banning from Daily Kos.

It is a non-story (birthers) except that according to several posts on the net today (Saturday), more than 60% of white Republicans don't believe Obama is a US citizen. Now, is the GOP the party of old southern white racists, or are they a party with legitimate claims to represent a significant percentage of the US population?

I think the answer to that is simple: Look at pictures of the two respective national Conventions; The GOP convention was fully of whites, mostly over 40. The Dem. convention was a riot of all colors and ethnicities, and all ages. The young people were engaged, excited. If the GOP doesn't figure out how to broaden their party, they'll age out in about 15 years. And then we WILL have a problem, because one party no matter how good their platform might be considered to be...is NOT a good prescription for the country.

So, GOP, for the well being of the country, police youselves and stop the mad dash to the far right "world is flat" "birther and deather" movement.

Oh, please. What inventive. Do your homework and check Factcheck.org, the NON-PARTISAN Web site that verifies statements and rumors. They have looked into the birth certificate issue, the Hawaiian health dept. has verified their digitization of paper records and there's a birth announcement in two Hawaiian papers immediately after his birth. Give it a rest. Obama is our president and you are VERY disrespectful of that fact. There is no "revolution" necessary, but the idea of one helps keep the fringers like you riled up. Too bad that a smart black man is in the White House. We'd be in a FAR worse state if the McCain-Palin combo were there with Wasilla Hillbilly appointments.

This is a fraudulant request that is a side issue to the big economic and social issues we face. Move on and get a life that is grounded in something more constructive than demanding a piece of paper from the president. (Let's face it. You wouldn't believe anything he'd produce in person.)
